Dwayne Peterson lives with his wife Judy in Eloy AZ. Although he’s worked in a variety of mediums for the past 20 years, he now focuses his energy in carving gourds.
Dwayne’s unique method of incorporating clay sculpting into his gourds really caught the attention of the judges at the 2007 Wuertz Annual Gourd Festival. He entered 6 gourds and received (4) 1st Place awards, (1) Best of Division, and (2) 2nd Place wins. WOW, not bad for his very first gourd competition!
Keep your eyes on this gourd artist; he is sure to take gourd art in new directions. It should be fun to watch!
